Do you mean the protesters aren't sincere?
Even the boss of the company involved says that fracking here won't make any difference to energy prices.

These days there are protesters for everything, their only sincerity is the conviction that they are right It doesn't follow that fracking will not affect prices, the more fuel produced the more the price will fall. Recently seen with petrol prices falling due to overproduction

It's a world-wide market; what is produced here can make no difference.
Aren't you sincerely convinced that you are right?

I don't know what that means. There is a rational case to be made against fracking, and these people, for the most part, make it.

That means you think you're so right there can be no possible argument against you. I'll have to try that one sometime.

If the usual rent a gobs turn out with their militant mantras then I know I am right I can have an opinion, but that can be argued against, so in that sense, those protesting are equally "right" Can you blame people who, up to now, have lived in peaceful countryside, and have stood up and said they don't want a huge noisy fracking plant on their doorstep; they can hardly be called rent a gobs! I suspect you mightn't cheer if this was in your backyard. One thing is sure, there IS gas there, but the destruction of a large and picturesque area of productive farmland, coupled with an environmentally unfriendly extraction process to tap such a small resource makes fracking in Lancashire a bad idea ....in my OPINION. As we know, some countries already have a total ban on the process. I couldn't say "I know I am right" unless I was demonstrating a known and provable fact!

If fracking is stopped I look forward to reading your posts about the high cost of filling your car with petrol, and your high energy bills

If cracking starts, my guess is those two examples will show zero positive impact. I'm not right though...that is just my opinion.

I'm guessing that comments like yours were made when coal mining started in rural landscapes yet the workers who live amongst those industrial abandoned dirty landscapes bemoan their closure and loss of jobs

It's not just your opinion: it's the opinion of the bloke who runs the fracking company, and everyone else who understands how energy prices work; there are rational reasons for allowing fracking, but hoping for a reduction of UK energy prices is not one of them.
