This season has started again and strictly speaking it should be on the TV thread but I started it here as it may elicit grumbles so I put it on this one.
I just watched it. Hope some of you did.
First off, I don't want more Grammar schools. All the nonsense about providing opportunity for under privileged bright kids is a complete nonsense since where they exist, house prices rocket and it's actually very privileged youngsters who attend them.
Second, I agreed with the audience chap at the end who commented that he was old enough to remember 'old' labour and their values...which the young members who have joined are just not wise to. As Labour stands right now - totally unelectable IMHO.
And Brexit... obvious that large numbers are just keeping their fingers crossed and don't believe it will actually happen.

Absolutely no doubt about that!! I was out on Thursday night so caught up with this yesterday...a rather 'lively' programme.

I will be watching tonight... Jacob Rees-Mogg! I like him 😁 From Wiki.. "At the 1997 general election, Rees-Mogg was the Tory candidate for the solidly Labour seat of Central Fife and attracted ridicule after canvassing a largely working class neighbourhood with his nanny;on election night he came third, gaining 9% of the votes cast, slightly fewer than half of the votes won by the previous Conservative candidate in 1992. However, rumours that he had toured the constituency in a Bentley were described as "scurrilous" − he insisted it had been a Mercedes"

The situation regarding the labour leadership is lamentable. Corbyn was originally welcomed with open arms when first elected but it's been the man in action (or lack of) that caused the revolt. Nice bloke...NOT a leader. Owen Smith, same.
If Lamb thinks those labour MPs are going to join forces with him and Tim, he can dream on.
As for another referendum to decide whether we like the package... I don't think I could bear it...
I thought JRM generally talked sense.

Question Time and This Week are on far too late for me. I watched on iPlayer. Coming from Boston, it was no surprise that immigration was the main topic and in a week where Corbyn has made it clear that Labour (his Labour, that is) would not impose controls but solve the problem with money. Hmmmm... The main thing I took from the programme is how useless Priti Patel is!
