Constant bickering about the same point ,drives people away from joining or remaining on the board. When does discussion become "bickering"? Do you want to impose censorship?

I don't want to so don't make me. Constant derogatory references to other members life choices get very boring. My desire is to keep the members we have, if not I will close the board.

My desire is to keep the members we have, if not I will close the board. I'm at a loss to see any "derogatory references to other members life choices", I simply see discussions about political beliefs The problem of course is the socialist intentions to control everyone's way of thinking and lifestyle, a narrow step removed from communism. When this is challenged it results in the predictable response because to coin a phrase - "They don't like it up 'em" Such views are heavily promoted by champagne swilling socialists from their Tuscan villas, or the delights of Islington. Totally removed from those they claim to represent This thread is now well into 50 odd pages and as Brexit will rumble on for many years to come I suppose there will be many more instances of "bickering"

In the most recent socialist past just think about Harold Wilson's "Prices and Incomes Board" which controlled how much you earned and the price of everything you paid for And this was what Atlee allowed you under his controlling socialist/communist government "A typical person’s weekly ration allowed them 1 egg, 2 ounces each of tea and butter, an ounce of cheese, eight ounces of sugar, four ounces of bacon and four ounces of margarine." Seems incredible in todays plenty that this is what people survived on

By the way, I live on a council estate in Lambeth (council housing being another socialist idea).

To clarify, I have never been a socialist, far less a communist. There is nothing personal in my remarks.
On the other hand, we don't want to be reminded in every post of anyones extreme opinion.

No I'm not Remember Germany the defeated nation and the occupied nations, France, Belgium etc, all managed and prospered without rationing.

If you're referring to me I am certainly not an "extremist", I would see myself as a Centrist and a supporter of New Labour for whom I voted since 1997. Last election I actually voted Labour but not as a Corbynite but as an anti May. Given the extremes of hard left and hard right which will be on offer at our next election I will vote for Vince Cable

Indeed, because there was a "centrist" Tory government which did not attempt to control us, in fact presided over the "swinging sixties". Thanks for that

Thanks for that Harold Wilson, '64 to '70. That was the swingiest period, wasn't it? Ah, you were mixing up Wilson and Atlee. Rationing under Atlee carried over from the War. Rationing made sure everyone got enough and prevented mass starvation.
