I can remember others that have disappeared but sometimes you find they were very local companies like Pearks or Wallis (both grocery stores). That was in the days when you did your shopping in the high street!

Thinking of the shoe shops, it's odd that the ones I considered stylish have gone to the wall, yet Clark's, who was always associated with x-rays, brown, and general dullness, continues to thrive!

Now knowing your taste for conceptual art, I'm surprised you didn't mention that man who put a very large 'object' in the middle of the Olympic Park. Come on, you know him...everybody knows him....
