Around the World in 80 days Casablanca The Maltese Falcon The Raven The Man Who Knew too Much Not sure on some of these Aubrey 😒 sort of guessing with OH I'm not sure about The Raven, but the others are all right (as long as meant the early version of The Man Who Knew Too Much, and not the Doris Day one). I'd have started with M though. edit The Raven's ok as well. Not looking very well I bought 'M' on DVD that very day. It's arrived - going to watch tonight 😊

So many things to comment on...poverty, criminal underworld v. police, early cinematic techniques... Lorre was a mere shadow until that incredible scene at the end. Very hard hitting. A brilliant film - 1931!

I'll have to watch it again now. You think, yeah, I've watched that, I remember it; when actually all I remember is the whistling (is that from this film though?), the criminals' conference, a chase in a factory... Oh, and the endless shots of the streets where he operates.
