Put that bloody cigarette out! (Said to be his last words.) edit: Oh, bugger. Saki, that is.
His story The Open Window is one of the best short short stories, by anyone, for me.

Bonus:
Robert Jemison Van de Graaff (December 20, 1901 – January 16, 1967) was an American physicist, noted for his design and construction of high-voltage Van de Graaff generators. He taught at Princeton University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Of course, this is where VDGG got their (mis-spelt) name from:

Trouble was he tried to convince people he really was a psychic and was telepathic other than just a skilled magician. James Randi exposed him on live TV. Randi was a good magician, and never claimed to be anything other than that.

Did you see that film about James Randi that was on BBC4 a bit back?It was really good - a bit sad as well, as he wasn't in control of events and he also looked old and at times distressed. It made him like him more than I did - I've always admired him, but not really liked him much until now.

He is now very old and I have always found him very entertaining. 100% better than Geller. As you may have gathered I don't like Geller. He is a fraud, pretending to be what he is not.

He is, you're right. This is the documentary: But it might be on the BBC iplayer - I don't know if they have stuff up there more of less permanently - yes they do, I just checked: there it's called Exposed: Magicians, Psychics and Frauds. It's a Storyville programme. Probably better quality than this. iplayer link
