www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/elm%20guest%20house%20abuse%20scandalThe Elm Guest House child abuse scandal arose from claims of sexual abuse and the grooming of children by prominent British men, including politicians, at parties held at the former Elm Guest House in Rocks Lane, near Barnes Common in South West London during the late 1970s and 1980s. An investigation, Operation Fairbank, which was led by the Metropolitan Police Service, started in late 2012. The investigation was a "scoping exercise" aimed at a "preliminary assessment of the evidence rather than a formal inquiry". The existence of the operation was confirmed on 12 December 2012, after operating in secret for several weeks. A full criminal investigation, Operation Fernbridge, was launched in February 2013 as a result of allegations arising from Operation Fairbank. The allegations of an establishment paedophile ring are part of a complex multi-agency investigation. Prominent people who attended parties at Elm Guest House are reported to have included the Liberal MP Cyril Smith and the Soviet spy Anthony Blunt. According to The Independent, other alleged visitors to the guesthouse include the former British diplomat Sir Peter Hayman, a Sinn Féin politician, a Labour MP, and several Conservative politicians. A work STILL in progress then..................

It would be nice to think that a dedicated team got to grips with this and that the guilty (if any) had every book on the shelf thrown at them. Very quickly.
But life is not like that. By the time the papers are shuffled, various hoops jumped through to select the people who will investigate this, then some of those people de-selected for one reason or another, and then the papers re-shuffled, this will drag on for years.
On the face of it it would seem that this one reaches far into the very heart of the establishment and although I might be a bit of a cynic I am pretty certain there are quite a few people who rather than sitting nervously waiting for a knock on the door are in fact doing their uttermost to ensure that any enquiry is both inadequate and flawed.

Britain pledged on Monday to investigate allegations that several politicians may have sexually abused children that were in the care of the state in the 1970s and 1980s and then used their positions to block attempts to expose them.
Claims of a high-level conspiracy to abuse children in state care have roiled the political establishment after the unmasking of once-fêted celebrities, such as late television presenter Jimmy Savile, as prolific child abusers.

Margaret Thatcher personally covered up child abuse allegations made against one of her senior ministers, according to explosive new claims.
The Sunday People reports Tory Prime Minister is said to have held a high-powered meeting with the rising star, who was being tipped for promotion, and told him: “You have to clean up your sexual act.”
It followed an allegation that the minister had sexually abused young boys at the home of one of his political allies in 1982.
However the minister apparently ignored the warnings.
It is claimed that four years later he was spotted by police seeking young boys for sex at Victoria railway station in London.
But no action was taken.

I really do hope it is not a fudged enquiry and heads roll. Well the surviving heads. I am personally a little scathing over claims that dead people did this or the other. It is the people that knew and covered it up who are in my opinion even more guilty. The cover ups simply enabled the dirty little perverts to abuse more victims, almost with impunity. Had the perverts been exposed at the time it would I think have dissuaded a lot of others from thinking 'this is easy, and we won't get caught'

The cover-ups go right to the top. Thatcher (eg) has been cited as, knowing of and ignoring..........

Well, lady Butler-Schloss has just stepped down.
So I suppose we wait, then wait some more for the next poor sod to put their head over the parapet and for the tabloids to rake up some misdemeanour or a liaison while they were at school which will rule them out........

I wonder why it's always Victoria station? And I know for a fact that boys for rent do hang out there, as I know someone who used to do just that.
