When I told my daughter I was incandescent with rage, she apologised for going into "Mum" mode, which she does when she takes the children to the doctors etc. She didn't even notice it had happened. She wasn't the one who needed to apologise. She is marvellous at getting me to appointments.
I used to speak for my mother towards the end, but she was as mad as a box of frogs.
