I am wondering if any of you has a real tree nowadays.
I've got a silver one that comes to bits and takes just a few minutes to put up and the pubs got a big artificial one. I see the real trees for sale on the market but I bet their sales are less than they used to be.

We've had the same christmas tree for nearly 35 years. Mrs A bought it in Woolworth's January sale for (£20..I think) It is 13ft tall, in heavy duty metal covered in thick green plastic.
Just looked .They range from 150 to 500 quid now!!

Our artificial tree which we'd had for over 20 years didn't move with us to Edinburgh. It was a 7 ft one but was beginning to look tatty, it also was packed into 3 boxes of which we have no room for. So for the first time since MrN and I had our first Xmas' together we're having a real one, but we can have a tall one too because the ceilings are so high. Looking forward to it

I have a real one and have never had an artificial one. But mine is rooted, and goes out in the garden in it's pot after Christmas and grows a bit more every year, until it is either too big for the house or too big to carry into the house! Then I get another.
You can buy tiny rooted trees in Supermarkets complete with a small skein of LED's and a battery for about a tenner. Mine is such but looking damned good this year. I have had it about 5 years.
I gave one away once that had outgrown the house and a relative planted it as a tree in the garden. It became a magnificent tree over 30' tall within a few years. In the pot they never get too big as they are effectively root bound. And you won't get a single needle dropped.

If you go to a 'garden centre' quite a lot. I think mine came from Tesco and was a tenner. Correction, it was on offer at a fiver - yes I know I am tight. It started off no more than 350mm or so high, but it now around 650mm high. Does size matter? Well a tree is a tree is a tree, and everyone seems to want a tree which will just about creep in the house if you cut a foot off the bottom. I prefer small and beautiful

PS. That is about 12Euro, or 6 if you get them on offer, just in case you are no longer familiar with proper money
