I was glad to see the Department of Education slammed the demonstration outside a school regarding images of Mohammed shown in a lesson. Unless this kind of thing is opposed, then there is no comeback when those who are outraged take things even further. I am sure that teacher is in fear of his life.
As a Christian, Christ is lampooned at every turn. Yes, I am offended. But that's it.

This has made me more than angry, but why am I not surprised. At the slightest excuse the local community (I am choosing words so carefully) will kick off.
The pathetic statement from the headmaster was a disgrace. What he should have said was words to the effect that the school educated children to think for themselves, and no subject was off limits, and he fully backed an experienced teacher.
I am reminded of the furore that kicked off with the publication of Satanic Verses. It was in fact years after the book was published that Salman Rushdie had death threats and all sorts of other bile poured at him. How many of the people protesting and committing criminal acts had read that book? And one might ask, how many of them could actually read?
Enough is enough I think. The people outside the school should be told that if they do not disperse they will be fined under the current covid rules, and that should be implemented if they fail to comply. And where are the mums protesting? It is all men.

The women are all at home, kept in the house as much as possible. They do as they are told imo. Said image was apparently used in previous years in the school so it possibly wasn't even his idea to include it, but might have already been part of a 'scheme of work' in that subject curriculum so that teacher was scapegoated, conveniently, by the Head. I agree with the GLO. The police should approach the protesters with "You've had your say - now you're disrupting students' education" The Head should also say to those parents 'other schools are available' !

That young teacher is in fear of his life now, poor bloke. Well, when you see what happened to teachers in France....
