Sounds like England's in for a lot of rain.Does your area flood? I live near the Severn and when I had a small factory near the river had 4' of seawater through the place one night. Not an experience I want ever to go through again. I spent a couple of hours up to my waist in water which had ice in it and once I was back on dry land sat in the car for over an hour warming up sufficient to drive
The factory has since moved, and I live at the top of a hill, so am relatively immune.

I live quite high up, so I'm not worried about flooding. However, we usually get lots of snow. I hope we don't get it next week, as I may still be going to the hospital each day.

Well it is blowing a hoolie here and the wind rattles round this old house as it has for over 100 years. Not a day for going out but I have to go into the office about 3 as my posh car is needed for a trip tomorrow. Hopefully it will come back in one piece! Was going to walk home, but I rather think I will get a lift.

It has settled down now but last night was a night to sit by the wood-burner! The noise of the rain on the Velux windows almost drowned out the sound of the TV. In view of what was being shown that was no great loss.
The rain continued on and off and then at 6ish there was an enormous flash of lighting followed almost instantly by the thunder, What is it? 5 seconds to the mile? This was very very close, and that was followed by a hailstorm of biblical proportions.
Roll on spring cos none of us will feel much better unless, like the sheep we can feel a bit of sun on our backs!

They have a habit now of referring to weather of.....'biblical proportions'. Doesn't that sort of contradict the assertion that present weather conditions are because of man's excesses......flying,motors and so on?

Hyperbole is the essence of every news report or weather prediction on TV. No matter how insignificant the event, someone will exaggerate it to the nth degree.

We have wonderful sunshine today, entirely due to mans excesses....

It is dull and cloudy here. I think it will improve as the day goes on, as will I.

It is very hot and sunny here. Too hot for me to go outside at the moment, but my daughter and I did have our lunch in the garden earlier.

Looks like it is going to be a hot day today. Just as well as I have soooo much post-holiday washing to do.

Very hot. I actually caught the sun cutting grass on Saturday, but then had a mini barbeque which was great.
