In case other people haven't had one, I've just got a text from the NHS Coronavirus service, saying they have identified me as someone at risk of severe illness if I catch it. There is a link, to a page I haven't seen before
(though it has been up for a couple of days):
It may be useful, if you haven't already seen it.
Yes, I have had that as well. I have been isolated for a week and it is so quiet, and quite lonely. I think it is going to be a long haul, and a pretty rough ride. Al we can do is stay as safe as we can. Trying to work from home, but not that easy. |

I'm not on my own, but I have to keep away from everyone else; I watched a bit of University Challenge last night, sitting on the other side of the room.
It is really hard to settle to anything, even the kind of arsing about stuff that I do. I don't know how anyone can do real work at a time like this.

I'm not sure if this is the definitive government message "You are strongly advised" does not seem as extreme as we were led to believe was coming, it was alleged that it would be an order to do so The regular advice is to stay at home unless shopping for food and medication which we are doing but keeping our distance from other shoppers- mercifully very few today OH has reduced our dog walks to one per day |

I did quite a big spec and quotation yesterday but it is difficult to concentrate. I am used to wandering down the corridor and asking other members of my team their opinion so we have several brains working together. Cant do that now even on the telephone, which is fully connected to the office. I have a couple more to do but they can wait. It is a glorious day and I am going to spend an hour in the garden, which is pretty big and has not been done for the best part of a year or more since I was laid low.
And total isolation for me means just that. As someone said to me earlier, Virus don't have legs, they get from place to place on people!

Yes, the page seems to have been done on Friday, but I only got the link sent to me yesterday.
There's another link on the page though where you can register as an extremely vulnerable person, which may be useful in the future - I mean registering now may be useful.

I have just had the message
Stay at home and only go out to shop for food or medication if absolutely necessary and keep 6ft away from people
I think that food is very very necessary

It has just been announced that Boris Johnson has mild symptoms and has self isolated.
I wish him a speedy full recovery, and I am appalled at all the bile being poured on him after the announcement. |
