It's Edward and Wallis Simpson all over again, perhaps the royals should avoid marrying Americans Harry and the all demanding wife will spend their life aimlessly wandering around like the Windsors did, there is now way they will be allowed to stay as they are and have a commercial side Basically they cannot have their cake and eat it. There is a suggestion that he could become Governor General of Canada which would cover the cost of protecting them. I think if they want out, then it's goodbye

I can't see there union lasting all that long. When it does fold Harry will run back and want all the old trappings of royalty. Seems to me Meghan is a very confident woman used to getting her own way.

I think that Megan has been vilified by the toxic press in this country, ever since she came here. I don't blame her for wanting to get away from this country.Harry is still traumatised by what the press did to his mother. It's only natural that he wants to protect his wife. The monarchy are going to slim down anyway and I can't see what all the fuss is about. Let them lead a fulfilled and happy life. Harry deserves it after all he has been through.

After hearing Harry's speech last night,I think he is making a big mistake. When I look at things from his point of view,he is giving up everything, his friends, his charities, his position as the main man of the Marines, his country and all the places he knows well. I think that Meghan is being selfish by forcing him into her world and her life. I wonder if removing Harry from what he knows and does, may change him and then he won't be the man Meghan fell in love with. I am sure they are in love now,but I think Harry may not fit into her world as well as she would like. I wish them both well, but marriage is about compromise and at the moment it looks as though Meghan is having all her own way. I sincerely hope they do well and find what they are looking for in life. Harry deserves some peace and happiness. No one seems to be talking about the terrible behaviour of the press, which I think caused this whole problem.

The press get the blame but they are only after a story. Let's face it if we see an interesting headline we would read the story I have started to feel sorry for them, they are the typical royal heirs and spares - think Margaret, Andrew, and all the others I also think they brought a ray of sunshine into the stuffy house of Windsor - the Queen carries on as if the house of Ruritainia still exists, as does Charles and William. Completely out of touch, and date with the modern UK

If Harry and Meghan want to live in the US permanently then the US government should certainly NOT be expected to provide or pay for the security the Sussexes say they require. The couple should either pay themselves for any security they say they require OR they should do as the majority of folk living in the US have to do, and that's to manage without vast teams of security people supporting them. I'm wondering where they get their income from to maintain their lifestyle, now that Harry has given up his royal duties and Meghan has had to give up her actress career.

As I understand it they have not asked for US aid and ; in fact have declared themselves self sufficient. More press nasty.

Are we not obliged to pay for their security, after all he did fight in Afghanistan and it would only take one Al-Qaeda or ISIS nut case to kill him Tony Blair has round the clock protection
