With Anthony Burgess's subs. In his autobiography Burgess goes on a good deal about the word Panache, so that I was able to anticipate the film's last words; it's good though - long, but fast moving. And I kept giggling at this:

It has been quite a while since I last watched a film so I'm not really sure which was the last one I saw, but it may well have been "The Zone of Interest", which is very powerful. We watched it at our local cinema, but I believe it's now available on Prime. I'm not sure popcorn is appropriate.

I can now say for certain that the last film I watched was "Lee", starring our local gal, Kate Winslet in the title role - Mrs Tickle and I went to see it this evening at our local cinema. It's a powerful biographical drama about Lee Miller, a photographer and former fashion model, which concentrates almost exclusively on her exploits as a photojournalist during WW2.

I watched Ghost Writer by Robert Harris. Not bad, a bit average and the end is beyond dire. I haven't read the book and won't be. I find that Harris doesn't know how to write female characters. I heard him gripe once that popular bestselling authors never win awards, well he wouldn't have got a GSCE certificate for his book V2 from me. Thank goodness someone gave it to me and I hadn't spent my hard earned on it. I made notes in the margins and gave it to a charity shop!!! Pants, utter pants!

Has anyone seen Blitz. It's on a limited release and I've missed both slots at the cinema. My youngest saw it at Belfast Film Festival and she says it's great.

Recently watched a film at home for the first time in months. Chosen at random from movies available on Prime, it was "Song for Marion". A shameless tearjerker and not very believable, but quite enjoyable in its way.
