I hope you are all keeping well. I still keep going although with all the meds I keep getting bunged into me I will be the fittest one in the burial ground.
Unfortunately I am in a wheelchair now but my neighbour took me out a fortnight ago to the Great Central WW2 re-enactors show and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Even the weather was beautiful that day and in all my 89 years on this earth I have never been sunburnt but I finished up looking like Rudolph with my red nose.Must be something to do with global warming.
Anyone got anything exciting to tell me? Keep well and God Bless.

Well it looks as though no one has got anything to tell me so I had better make myself scarce. Take care everyone and keep well.

Hi Jimmy and Arena. Thanks for getting back to me. I have got to the age in life now where I feel as though I am ruddy useless mainly because I cant DO what I used to in regards various interests.I cant even hold my ruddy knitting now without my fingers going into spasms. If it wasn't for the computer and my I-pad I think I would go nuts. I am more than thankful that I learnt how to use a computer nearly 20 years ago when I had my WW2 website put on the net and can still tap any tales out with my middle finger on my right hand so that I can keep I touch with folks from around the world. It is also good to know that many elderly have mastered an I-pad or lap top to keep in contact with the outside world although technology has its drawbacks too that can interfere with every day life as well as being a boon. I will stop rambling now and go to see if I can add anything to other threads or to start one. If you get cheesed off with my ramblings just tell me to take a long walk off a short pier. Cheers.

Hi May, For you age you have mastered the computer marvelous. I know many 30 years younger that can't fathom new technology. I'm sure there's always some around to have a chinwag. I love listening to stories from yesteryear and senior people have so many interesting stories to tell. The recent anniversary about Dunkirk interested me because my Dad was there, for weeks he'd existed on rhubarb from near by fields. Then as he ran for a rescue boat he was shot in the leg but still managed to carry a fellow soldier to the boat. He still had shards of shrapnel in his leg when he died 30 years later.

I can still see and hear the roar of the engines of hundreds planes going overhead Rondetto and I wrote this poem of that momentous day.
6th/6th /2019
It does not seem like seventy five years since the D-Day invasion onslaught With hundreds of planes flying overhead and nerves were so very fraught. Many thousands of young men going into battle without a last Goodbye Leaving behind their loving families and all willing to have one last try At suppressing the evil enemy and making it a free world for all to enjoy Everyone was involved emotionally on this special day whether man or boy. YES! I remember it well and I will never forget the feeling of anticipation Of knowing that at last something was being done by a united nation. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who never returned to see The freedom that they fought for, which they gave to the likes of you and me.

Hello May. It's great to read your posts about years gone by. So sorry I haven't said hello earlier. I haven't much to offer here except books, poetry, birds, and butterflies! All are a huge part of my life and keep me sane.
