This is Lula sitting in the cat's bed. She has her own beds but much prefers small places to curl up in.

All these gorgeous dogs! I long to have one but it is impossible at the moment. Jimmy, my daughter's lurcher Lula certainly does bolt at times! Often she won't spend any large pennies whilst she is out walking. So when she gets back home, she goes straight to her special place which is hidden away at the back of my daughter's secret garden and does what it necessary. After that she bolts around the various parts of the garden and orchard so pleased with herself! The only thing she might chase is a squirrel. At all other times she is so gentle and quiet. I adore her. They are super dogs, we daw a couple in the rescue kennels and were tempted but advised that as our front garden fence is only about four foot high and beside a busy road a lurcher could jump the fence and chase the traffic Our collie could probably jump it too but has never tried, in any case he is scared to go outside unless one of us is with him. Similarly our JRT is terrified of flies, if she sees one in the bungalow she will run and hide. Beside anything else they know when they are well off

She (there's nothing behind that paw there): we had a communist living with us when we got her so we named her after Lenin.
Later some German communists told my brother that using Lenin's name was disrespectful. It's a good job they didn't know about the song we once did about Lenin and Trotsky saying goodbye at Moscow railway station:
Bye bye, Bye Lenin. Bye bye, Bye bye Trotsky. We're gonna start the revolu-u-shun, yeah... Oh, we're gonna start the revolu-u-shun. We're gonna start the revolu-u-shun, yeah... Oh, we're gonna start the revolu-u-shun.
***
Bye bye... (repeat)

It's not though, Jimmy - look at it closely. It looks horrible at first, but it's just a couple of dogs playing.

I love ANY dogs and only wished I was capable of having one now. Any that visit me all know where I keep their treats. I used to have a Cairn Terrier that corresponded with Wendy Richards' (the famous actress) dog named Shirley Brahms. Wendy used to write the letters from Shirley to my dog named Gi-Gi. They were both Cairns and looked more like twins. Photos below of Wendy's dog in her sombrero and Gi-Gi with Donald Duck in her mouth. Everywhere she went Gi-Gi took Donald. Just before Wendy died she sent this signed photo of her and her dog to my dog.

Spare a thought for my little Dax, Snip. He is now , not only totally blind but almost totally deaf. Otherwise he is healthy and loves being stroked.

Lurchers are great pets. We had one when I was a child, her name was Trixie. Our favourite family dog was called Jasper. He was a mongrel and looked very like a black labrador, but he had a white flash on his chest. We used to say he was almost human. My mother would say he was one of we.
