I once lived for a week on egg and pickled beetroot sandwiches, on white bread with butter and mayonnaise: and, what's more, I'd do it again, dammit.

When I was a teenager my mother had a large container of American mustard. I used to love it and eat sandwiches with just butter and that mustard on them. As an adult,I bought some American mustard, but it was nothing like the one I'd had years before. I don't know if my taste changed or the mustard.

And why the hell do peanut butter jars have wide shoulders and narrow necks? You're scraping round blindly in there by the end.

That's the whole idea, Colmans made their money from mustard that was left on the plate Nostalgically I remember dripping sandwiches especially if you could get some of the brown goo at the bottom. Also potted beef that used to be sold in small enamelled trays, both gone I suppose because of health scares

I remember dripping sandwiches. I don't eat meat mow, but they were good.
I would never leave mustard.
The peanut butter thing bugs me especially because the first, or biggest peanut putter maker went for that kind of jar, so all the rest think that's the shape of a peanut butter jar and do the same. They don't do the same for jam - you get all kinds of jars for that.
Still, I suppose you're right, the bloody robdogs.

Head cheese sounds a bit... hmm.
Edit - oh, just brawn. Almost as bad, in its own way.
