Did anyone watch that bbc2 documentary about Neanderthal man last night? It was showing how much intelligence man had thousands of years ago and how we have evolved. Even now we don't use our full brain power and in thousands of years to come it makes you wonder what and how much more our brains will evolve. The US voted for Trump. The Uk voted for Brexit. Intelligence? We have a long way to go.

I have read that we don't share any DNA with Neanderthal man. It makes you wonder doesn't it. They may have been a different species from the primitive men we come from.

John Malkovitz as Poirot in a three-part limited series adaptation of Christie's The ABC Murders, set to begin filming for BBC One next month.
What do you think?

Well,Anybody,I feel that that story has been done so many times. I don't know why they don't use some of AC's other stories. There are many to choose from, but they seem to keep making the same plots over and over again. I recently read about a producer who wanted to make a film of The Three Musketeers and didn't even know it had been a book. When told of the book,he wanted it pulled from circulation,in case people got to know the story before the film came out. This is not a joke, but it shows the calibre of Hollywood film producers.

The last episode of The Split tonight. I can hardly wait. I still have no idea how it will all turn out. I think it may be a cliff hanger at the end and then another series.

Michael Moorcock was once writing a script for a Hollywood company. The film was to be set in either ancient Britain or Roman Britain and Moorcock showed the producer a photograph of either Stonehenge or Hadrian's Wall, as a suggestion for a possible location. The producer was enthusiastic, and asked whether whatever it was was still there. Moorcock said, It's a photograph.
(The film was never made.)

Yes,I am a bit disappointed. I thought they rushed through too much stuff at a breakneck speed. I could see a new series coming by about half way through. I thought a few of the loose ends were tied up too conveniently. I,of course ,wanted Nathan and Hannah to go happily into the sunset. But if people didn't do irrational things, there would be no drama. So,I enjoyed it,but with a few reservations.

I really like Richard Osman, he is very quick witted.I haven't seen the programme though. It is on at an inconvenient time. I expect it will be repeated. I'll catch it then.

Mock the Week is back next Thursday (at last).I will record it,so I can savour it when OH is asleep. Because he doesn't like it,he usually talks all the way through it.
