I have to isolate completely for two weeks before my eye operation and two weeks afterwards, so it will be mid August before I even think about going out. Still, I'm in no hurry to mix with people who may, or may not, have the virus. I believe China has alerted the world about a new disastrous virus they have.

They get cases of bubonic plague in the Mongolia region almost every year and have always done. It is however, entirely treatable with antibiotics nowadays. There were some cases in the media in October in the same region. I think there are other parts of the world where this still happens occasionally.

Bubonic ... Isn't that something to do with Rats?
If so, could one vacinate onself by taking rat poison?

OH has gone into hospital today. We don't know what's wrong with him yet, he will be having some tests. I knew something wasn't right yesterday when we spoke on the phone. He has gone straight into the medical assessment unit, so at least he hasn't had to go through A and E. I have a feeling he may have had another stroke. I'm not allowed to go to him.

I'm sorry to read this.
I see that you cannot see him, but I hope you have someone (Carehome? Hospital?) who are keeping you up to date.
I hope that it is something that is detected, controlled, and soon mended.
You suspect a Stroke. (yes I had one, that's why I keep mispelling things), but they can be worrying, but minor.

I am trying not to worry, goodlookingone. The care home are very good, but I shall ring the hospital myself in about an hour, when they have had time to look him over.

They have a medical assessment unit here, you go into A&E who deal with your immediate problem and then into the unit whilst they are supposed to assess what is wrong and where you need to go next. In a actual fact they send you to wherever there is a bed. On one admission I went through four wards before getting into the correct onw. One of these was the Cardiac Arrest Unit which gave my daughter a heart attack when she finally found me for a visit Good luck and best wishes xx
