The hurricane got us last night. Mrs A & I were just about to find out how much the miner's helmet*, on Road Trip, was going to fetch, when all hell broke loose. Thunder, lightning and torrential rain blacked out the satellite. After an hour the rain subsided and the telly stopped flashing 'no signal'. We had more lashing rain later but by that time we were watching a recording.
* We'd be indebited to any of you who watched it,if you can ease our curiosity.

I have spent another 2 hours topping and tailing spring onions again today. My fingers and thumbs stink of onions now. I wonder if there is a quicker way that they do this in a factory.

Hi all I spent a fabulous weekend in Bordeaux, with our youngest. It finished up with lunch yesterday at Gordon Ramsay's at the Grand Hotel. Lovely food, with desserts to die from. I wish I were rich enough to live in style. Never mind, lucky to get a taste of it!

One of the 'joys' of rural life......the electricity goes off, expectantly from time to time.Whilst I was in Bordeaux at the weekend* it went for 12hrs, leaving Mrs A with no lights, internet or telly. In fact it went when she was halfway through her beloved Archers. BTW it means no telephone either. The electricity just had a half hour pause this morning........
* We can only go one at a time unless we make arrangements for the dogs & cat!

I guess everyone has got their heating on by now. It has certainly turned a lot colder.
