We have been lucky enough to go on holiday and eat the most wonderful breakfast each day...different types of fruit, pastries, cheeses, salami, - you name it.
Now we are home, I am wondering why we revert to the cereal/porridge/toast menu. I have bought some of these more exotic items but the OH doesn't want them saying "It's not a treat if you have them at home"
What do you have?

In camping days, tents and caravans, it was always bacon and eggs but at home wouldn't touch them for breakfast - just cornflakes and toast When the relies from Belgium visit they always want a full English for their first morning, then toast for the rest of their stay

Homemade meusli with yoghurt followed by toast for me, oatcakes for MrN, fruit and copious hot coffee.
Very rarely will we have a cooked breakfast, when we do it tends to be more brunch time and then have nothing until supper time.

Interesting. Lots of variation here. We buy cereals but to be honest, now the food manufacturers have been persuaded to remove any ingredient that actually tastes of anything, what you're left with is crispy cardboard.
I think all these 'meat' offerings are good if it's about 11. At 7.30, I feel they are a bit too intimidating!

My breakfast is two mugs of strong tea. If I am staying away I do have breakfast and admit to having the unhealthy options of bacon egg beans and toast maybe, but feel pretty bloated for a few hours afterwards. I think I eat it because it is there.

I usually have a toast with coffee, but as above when on holiday I do have a full English buffet breakfast and enjoy it too.

I use Shreddies or Cherrios as dry snacks to have if I'm peckish instead of biscuits.
I can put up the recipe for my muesli if anyone is interested.

I seem to recall on one of those Trust Me I'm a Doctor programmes, hearing that a cooked breakfast (protein really) was much healthier because you would be less likely to snack and would feel full for a long time. Something to do with the protein and the body registering that it is being nourished, which does not happen with carbs. So the tea (or coffee) and toast is no good if you then eat a doughnut around 11 o'clock 😁

I think it is just what your body gets used to. I certainly don't snack mid morning, but do have a couple of cups of coffee. A light lunch and then dinner in the evening. Dinner is usually around 7.30, too late but that is what I do.
When I was doing a lot of travelling I never used to eat anything during the day as I found it made me sleepy. I was sometimes forced to have lunch with clients but other than that rarely bothered. Maybe a mars bar to keep the blood sugar levels up.

I think it is just what your body gets used to. I certainly don't snack mid morning, but do have a couple of cups of coffee. A light lunch and then dinner in the evening. After the initial agony (!) she said that she had more mental acuity than she'd had in years and actually had more energy too. There was a footnote by a medic saying it is very beneficial for the body to live for a while off its own reserves but but it does not wholly revert to this until food withdrawal has occurred for a few days. Hmm.. I'd like to try it 😃

Hmm.. I'd like to try it 😃 Interesting. I actually never really got hungry even at the end of maybe an 18 hour day. I used to sometimes get headaches, but that was just tiredness I am sure. I think most of us just eat at set times because it seems to be either convenient or the right thing to do, not because we are hungry. Maybe I should try 'fasting' but have never been one for diets of any kind.
