Twice this morning I have had to slam brakes on for some idiot who has not looked right and gone straight across
the roundabout. How do they ever pass their driving test?

People who speak American when we know they are British. Rebecca Addlington has been getting on my nerves saying
SKEDULE.. It isn't pronounced like that, it is SCHEDULE.

I don't know about Schedule (though pronounced "wrongly" you can make a play on it with "Scared you all").*
I used to think that what turns out to be the English pronunciation of lieutenant - Leftenant - was a horrible upper-class affectation, and I still think I'm right to use what is supposed to be the US version - Lootenant. Leftenant, come on: you only ever hear that in old films, where everyone spoke upper class (apart from a handful of gor blimey cockneys).
*The Fall, obviously, in a song called Backdrop.

Loo tenant is patently correct as it is French, meaning in lieu of the tenant ( the tenant being a large landowner , who could send someone to war in his place) |
