Thagadgetst sounds horrible. It was but somehow she managed for the last years of he life, refusing all help. Years of domestic hard labour before household gadgets and machines made life easier for everybody

It's not too bad now - at least it doesn't hurt like it used to. The worst thing is that I can't do touch-typing because my fingers won't go into the right position. Do your thumbs hurt? Yes. My problem is I have conflicting health issues, because of which I cannot take pain-killers or cortisone.

I've been tempted into buying a toasted sandwich machine. Do you have one? Any good recipes?

I have a Breville I have used for years. I like ham & cheese with onion chutney.

I have one that I use regularly. I love cheese and ham and cheese and tomato, my favourite though is cheese and sliced onion. The onions have to be Spanish as they are milder. Male sure you have a plastic knife and fork as if you use a steel knife it will scratch the surface.

Treated myself to a new tablet in the sales. My old Amazon Fire was a bit dated, and this new one was half price in the sale. I use it mainly to play games, especially in aeroplane journeys, and have actually got it up and running. As to all the rest of the things the blurb (useless) tells me it can do I suspect it will be controlling me

Well, you can lightly fry an egg and put it on the bread to make an omelette toasty.

Put a slice in the machine press an indent with your fist break an egg in the hollow add salt & pepper put on lid cook You can make it runny or more set with your timing.

Tip: Put some rice in the bottom of your salt cellar. It keeps the salt from clogging.

I have just invested in an electric pressure cooker.
Anyone got one?

I had one that is used daily when the daughters were at home. Very handy if you're cooking for a famiy.
