Now! Now!
I'm talking about things you buy in the shops! On my home delivery shopping, I am constantly amazed at what's got smaller.

Toblerone's are much smaller. They have made the middles further apart hence less chocolate.

Snicker bars are my very favourite, your average bar now isn't much bigger than the fun size used to be! Large eggs are actually medium eggs for old recipes so I add another one. The only thing getting larger is the bill at the end!

I have noticed that Mr Kipling now makes "Exceedingly smaller cakes" Console myself with the thought that the shrinking food is healthier for us

There used to be an economic yardstick of 'The Mars Bar Economy' It was a comparison based on the Mars Bar which had not changed in size for decades. Not now, a lot smaller than the original.

There used to be an economic yardstick of 'The Mars Bar Economy' It was a comparison based on the Mars Bar which had not changed in size for decades. Not now, a lot smaller than the original. How is it that, if advertising - as I have heard it described, several times, by people from the advertising industry - is "Just information", why the information about chocolate bars getting smaller is not advertised, or even mentioned.

Jaffa Cakes.......... The number of Jaffa Cakes has been cut from 12 to 10 in the latest example of packaged food "shrinkflation".
The boxes now weigh 4.3oz rather than 5.2oz, but McVitie's has reduced the recommended price from £1.15 to 99p.
Twin packs, which now have 20 cakes rather than 24, are now £1.89 rather than £2.19.
"These changes represent the same price per cake, however, pricing ultimately remains at the sole discretion of retailers," the firm said.
A McVitie's spokesman added: "There is no change in the size, shape or weight of individual cakes in the McVitie's Jaffa Cake range."
If it's status quo, what was the point of going to the expense of altering all their machine settings and advertising. They must think we're all gullible!

I know what you mean Arena. In my day a pound of sugar was a pound of sugar, served to you in a blue paper bag.
Look at it now, all stacked up and leaking in a supermarket isle, and sold in Kilograms!
Next thing will be you won't be able to buy half a pound of butter, it will be 250 grimes or some such....

The M&S Jaffa cakes are much nicer than the McVities and you get the same amount for the same price.
