I have had the same thoughts, anybody. Gambling has never appealed to me,but I do worry about how easy it is for people to gamble now. They don't have to leave the house to lose a fortune. I learned early on that gambling isn't for me. I put 10 pence on a horse in a Grand National sweep and lost it. I cried so much they gave me my 10 pence back.I was only 14 at the time.

The adverts on Sky and BT TV between the football matches are all from the betting companies offering instant odds on who will score next and other temptations. ITV seem to have all the bingo adverts. If they can ban ads that affect children why can they not do the same with these, I suspect the gambling industry has a powerful lobby "Bet365 founder paid herself an 'obscene' £265m in 2017"ity www.theguardian.com/business/2018/nov/21/bet365-denise-coates-paid-herself-an-obscene-265m-in-2017 She didn't get rich from my betting activity, £10 accumulator bet on the Grand National, and if we go to a race meeting where there are six races we take £12 for a £1 each way bet on each race

It is sad to see people gamble away their money. It is an illness I'm sure.

You see it with Lottery scratch cards as well, people who look as if they haven't got two halfpennies to rub together buying the £5 scratch cards, desperately rubbing off the card and then buying meagre cheap shopping. If I have a spare £1 I will sometimes buy one but seldom win anything

There's a lady we know who is a;ways cadging a few bob for a drink or cadging a cigarette. Then I was behind her in WH Smiths one day and she bought two £10 scratch cards. I thought bloody hell there's no way I would spend £20 on a stupid scratch card.

Morrisons, Sainsbury's car parks were full at 8am today with cars backed up for a mile trying to find a space. One day they are closed next week. Do people think there's going to be a national shortage of food?

The Government saying we - as individuals - should prepare for leaving the EU with no deal might be a factor.

I see that this shower of a government are proposing to stop free TV licences for the over 75s. They really hate any sort of welfare, will it be job suitability interviews for this age group I always thought this concession was from the BBC but it is in fact from the government Convenient to drop this news out whilst the row about what Corbyn did or did not say rages, which deflects from the mess they are in. I don't understand the fuss, if he did mutter "stupid woman" he spoke the truth. She is stupid for trying to delay the inevitable, and I presume that she is a woman
