Trolls have criticized former England captain David Beckham after the football star posted a picture of him kissing his seven-year-old daughter Harper on the lips. Beckham shared the father-daughter photo, which was taken during an ice-skating trip in London, to his Instagram account. And after the snap was seen online, a host of commenters posted their disapproval, suggesting it was wrong for the father of four to kiss his daughter in that manner. I have to confess the pic made me feel a bit uncomfortable but anything that family does is just for publicity. I have not nor ever would kiss my daughters on the lips

Personally I see nothing wrong with showing affection with your own child.I think eventually the child will feel he or she is of an age that they feel awkward with a parental kiss. What is horrible in these modern times is that we are made to feel guilty when we hug and kiss our own children and grandchildren because of political correctness.

Here here Ron, We have three boys I always hugged and kissed them*, it's how you show affection.Even monkeys do it! * But not at the school gates....

Being currently a wheelchair user I am amazed at the public's attitude who refuse to get out of the way or disdainfully look as if we shouldn't be there. Interestingly it's young people who are most helpful. Even visiting my GPs surgery made me realise that the reception desk is at face level and if yo are in a chair you cannot be seen. Maybe if I ever fully recover I will become a champion of disability rights

It seems to me that there is a large number of people, just waiting around on social media,to disapprove of someone else. Especially if it's someone with money and/or fame. What mean little lives these people must be living.

Or, as just an easy way of keeping in contact with their fans.
I follow people I like on twitter, and find out about concerts, etc; before there was twitter they'd do it with newsletters and the like: I found out about the VDGG reunion through a newsletter - I think an email newsletter, though I'd had paper newsletters posted to me since the mid 80s.
With some people - like Peter Hammill (of VDGG) their activities - recordings, concerts, etc - were mostly ignored by the press, so they had to set up an alternative system: this despite the fact that Hammill has been incredibly influential.

Some **** wants 'vegan' to be given the status of a religion. I see their point I want to belong to the Meat and Two Veg Brethren.

Militant feminists are objecting to the song Baby It's Cold Outside claiming it's sexist. What would they have made of Eartha Kitt

I seem to have lost my appetite for anything at the moment, down to moving house i suspect! I'm still cooking until Monday and then we will be eating out for the last few days - anything would do me but OH loves his food!
Anyway, the good news is we have fuel again! We had a contingency plan but all seems to be a bit more 'normal' this morning!
Just the last bit of packing to do and then kicking my heels again - oh joy! Have a good day all!
