So, I'm laying on the sofa with feet up watching tv. Then something comes to mind that I must do before it goes out of my mind. I get up go upstairs to the bedroom then stand there wondering what I came up here for. Doh!!!! No, I could not remember so went back down stairs. I still can't think what it was. I bet it will come to me when I'm trying to get off to sleep later. That happens to me and you have the dread that it is the sign of that awful senile dementia (I use that word deliberately, there used to be mild dementia, dementia, chronic dementia, and senile dementia. Then Mr Alzheimer got is nose stuck in and another name was invented but it is no different) Can I ask how old you are? I only ask as a relevance to your post but will understand if you decline

A yellow weather warning has put parts of Britain on thunderstorm alert this Friday as low pressure and humid air are expected to clash with dramatic effect.
The Met Office has issued a severe weather alert for “slow-moving thundery downpours” in large swathes of southern England and the East Midlands.
A deluge of rain could cause flooding that risks damage to buildings, travel disruption on roads and trains and power cuts, the Met Office has said.
The thunderstorm warning will come into effect at 2pm on Friday and will be lifted just before midnight.
We're in for it , in France, too.

Airports: Dropped my brother in law off at Manchester airport today. They now charge to drop off. The notices say it's to relieve congestion, that's what I find confusing. I've done this many times for friends and family and it's in and out within a minute. It's a simple stop get the cases out say goodbye and off to go. Now, to relieve congestion (so they say) there are queues a mile long waiting to park in a bay then more queues at the pay station to get out. So, what used to take a minute and off now takes about 15 to 20 minutes. And that is supposed to ease congestion?

It's to ease congestion in the Airport's cash flow, silly. What made you think it was about cars?

I wonder if that is adopted at every airport, if one is doing it and raking money in I expect they all will We always B&B close to our major airport where you leave your car there and they run you to the airport and collect you on return. I suppose they will just jack the B&B cost up

The steward guy at Manchester said that they had adopted it because all other airports are doing it. Don't know if that's true of course.

At Edinburgh airport you can drop off or pick up at a separate point and you have to pay £1 which is coin only thrown into a bucket thing which activates the barrier. You are given no more than 5 mins to get in and get out. I think it works quite well so long at the people you’re picking up are there ready.

I agree. I hated to see any animals caged in zoos. It's not their natural habitat.

My wife has lost my spare car key. It's the newer type that has a fob and has a code. It's going to cost a bomb to replace. We've searched everywhere we can think of.
