Oh yes,I remember him.He was a bit like Jake Thackray who also sang very amusing songs. I think Jake's songs were wittier.

Beryl Elizabeth Reid, OBE (17 June 1919 – 13 October 1996) was a British actress of stage and screen. Born in Hereford, England in 1919, Reid was the daughter of Scottish parents and grew up in Manchester where she attended Withington and Levenshulme High Schools. Leaving school at 16, she made her debut in 1936 as a music hall performer at the Floral Hall, Bridlington.

I used to love Beryl Reid,she was so funny. I went to see her at The Empire in Liverpool with my friend,Carol. We waited outside afterwards and got Beryl's autograph.She was warm and friendly.

Born Yesterday is still one of my favourite films. Judy Holiday was wonderful in it. Broderick Crawford played her overbearing other half. Because he walked badly,my father always called him "happy feet". My,that takes me back.
