Nothing wrong with Spam... As for 'chemical-laden Angel Delight' - all food is chemicals, and cooking is mainly chemistry.
I have never essayed a Pot Noodle.
Remember discovering things in the sixties, like canned guavas? Very sophisticated... I think they are rather hard to find today.

Really? Sainsbury's came up blank other than as part of some smoothie or other...
Things I miss, that I used to like a lot - stuffed hearts, rabbit, bacon-rind (grilled until crisp) and pork chops with the kidney left in. Oh, and chicken giblets, gravy for the making of.

A yes, I believe butchers call it a Scotch chop. Delicious and the kidney imparts it's flavour to the meat,as it cooks. Yummy!

I believe there are regulations... suffice it to say that bacon comes without rind these days.

I dare say it's kept for some other delicacy.
You still get rind on French bacon.
(EU commandants slipped up there, Herr Falange, eh?)

Damn those cheese-eating surrender monkeys! Gobbling up all our bacon rind... Seems we are very much cheese-eating surrender monkeys too. BTW didn't we go belly-up,when Bill the Conk invaded?

I'm not sure now who coined that phrase -it was either some US General or Homer Simpson... whoever, it was definitely libelous.

I used to like spam fitters at school dinners. I miss pork chops with the kidney still attached - don't think that's legal now. Thankfully we can buy fresh or frozen veg cheaply now. When I was small, tinned peas were the norm - I mean garden peas, not processed. My nan used to love sterilized milk - yuk.

In Aberdeen chip shops,we used to get scallops. Not the fishy variety but mashed potatoes ,formed into cakes, deep fried. They were lush!
