It certainly is and it's also the birthday of one Julie London who sang a mean bit of Gershwin in her time! This morning on the Angel Radio breakfast programme I had the great pleasure of playing birthday girl Julie London singing birthday boy George Gershwin's "But Not For Me" for one of the listeners whose birthday it also was today.
I'd also planned - but ran out of time - to play something from one of the greatest musicals of all time, West Side Story, which opened on Broadway this day in 1957.
