What is the best gadget or accessory you have ever bought? Best gadget I've ever bought is my 3.5 litre family size slow cooker. It enables me to batch-cook a big pot of soup/casserole/curry, with one portion to eat on the day and the rest to be set aside for the freezer.

I saw a recipe for bread in a slow cooker if that is of interest. I make mine the old fashioned way in the oven but might just try it when I get bored!

I bought one of those gizmos, jimmy. It came today.(Good old Amazon.) It will certainly save my fingernails. I use the handle end of a teaspoon to lever up the ring pull so's I can easily access the ring to pull it. Thats a good idea, those rings are always tight to the surface. I've always used a knife at risk of impaling myself
