For me it's turkey. The only time of the year we have it.

The traditional Christmas turkey dinner with all the trimmings, and pudding with custard Few years ago came across Famous Names liqueur chocolates, hadn't seen them for years so treated myself. Now I avoid alcohol because of my diabetes and didn't realise these contained real alcohol, thought they were imitation. One chocolate and I was legless I do miss Meltis Newbury Fruits, and Terrys Neapolitans

The mention of Meltis Newberry Fruits took me right back to my childhood. My grandad always had those sweets on his little side table.
He used to offer them to me,but I was never keen on them.

I love turkey, but we don't often have it during the year. Every year about the middle of February,on a wet Wednesday,I always get a craving for turkey. I buy an extra crown at Christmas and keep it in the emergency freezer ready for that time.

Thinking back, there were lots of treats we only had at Christmas when I was a child. We mostly had goose for the main event. We only had tangerines and chocolate biscuits, mince pies and nuts at Christmas. There were no easy peeler Satsumas in those days. I had an uncle in the navy and when he was home at Christmas,he bought me and all my siblings a box of Milk Tray EACH. We thought this was amazing,we were sure he must be a millionaire.

What is the difference between Tangerines, Satsumas, and Clementines In Spain on market day the traders fill their tables/stalls with loose ones. They do not understand that you only want enough to eat for your stay, they insist on piling them into carrier bags for pennies We usually have a turkey crown but this year I fancied a whole turkey t carve and play with over the holiday. It's already in the freezer

Toasted blanched almonds tossed in salt, pepper and paprika. Much too more-ish.
