Next Friday I have an appointment for an internal examination and biopsy of my bladder. To that end I was asked to provide a urine sample at my GPs beforehand, which I did on Monday They have just called to tell me that I have an ecoli infection and an antibiotic prescription has been faxed to my chemist. No wonder I have been feeling so shitty The procedure does not worry me, some years ago they found stones in my bladder and a similar procedure removed them. The biggest stone was 2cms so I finished up with an internal blaster, water flushing supply and camera with light inside all at once, and another blaster on my tummy. The doctor said it was like a PlayStation game

Thanks I've got to an age now where I've ceased worrying and let them got on with it. I almost think I have given my body to medical science whilst still alive

I hope you are feeling better now. On my way to the shops something annoyed me and I decided to share it on the grumble board. By the time I had shopped and said ‘hello’ to the staffie I met on the way home I had completely forgotten what had upset me. There are some advantages to losing your memory!

I had something similar to take a bladder stent out. It's obviously not for Jimmy, but for me it was a lot easier than you'd imagine.

I had the same procedure a few years back to remove bladder stones, the biggest of which was 2 cms. Up went a camera, a water supply, and the stone blaster all at the same time. He finished up with another external blaster. There was no problem then The consultant this time looked fresh out of school, I think he was too scared to push hard

The optician has told me that my cataracts need to be removed. In Wales it could be a long wait,so I have decided to go privately. Just a question of calling the Nuffield to get things under way. We have a few appointments to go to next week, then I think the way will be clear. Now I just need to get my nerve up for it.

Good luck with that Althea. I gather they do that whilst you are awake and I have problems with my annual sight test, I do not lie anyone poking around close to my eyes. God forbid that I ever need brain surgery 'cos they do that while one is awake, makes me shudder to just imagine it

I went for a DEXA scan today and was weighed and measured. I asked what my height is and she said,"Five feet and squidge."I think that's a medical term. All of my daughters are taller than I am now.
