Police use “discretionary powers” with Prince Philip over not wearing a seatbelt.
Ordinary folk get a ticket.
Do you think this is fair?

Emma Fairweather (46), who broke her wrist in last Thursday's accident, spoke out against Philip during a television interview after pictures emerged at the weekend of the duke driving without his seatbelt.
She questioned why she had not received any official support, and was still waiting to give a statement to police - something that left her shocked.
Interviewed on ITV's This Morning programme, she said about Philip not buckling up: "It's highly insensitive and inconsiderate towards me and everybody involved."
Ms Fairweather agreed with presenter Holly Willoughby's suggestion that if the duke is deemed to be at fault for the accident, he should be prosecuted - saying "absolutely".

Jimmy, I think that was a tad unfair of you.
The Duke would seem to have been at fault and should face the consequences. He won't of course because of who he is. This has to be wrong but we are expected to put up with it. Try driving without a seatbelt - £100 instant fine and if it goes to court I believe it is £500 if guilty. A drop in the ocean is it not?

I'm not too sure about this but I think certain people are exempt from wearing a seat belt on medical grounds. Of course, no one knows whether Prince Philip is exempt or not. If he isn't then he should be prosecuted as any of us would be.

If he isn't then he should be prosecuted as any of us would be. He isn't exempt, the only royal who is is the Queen. All prosecutions are brought by her, technically, and she wouldn't prosecute herself The side road that Phillip drove out of is part of the Sandringham estate, and the roads are classed as private so the laws about driving do not apply

I thought maybe with his recent health issues he may have been exempt on medical grounds. Some people I believe are. He certainly couldn't argue because of his age otherwise that would mean he shouldn't be behind the wheel anyway.
