It is a beautiful, sunny morning here, but very cold. I'm afraid I have been a bit under the weather lately. I have been losing my voice and choking when I eat or drink. I didn't want to mention it, until I knew what was going on. I have decided to mention it now, to demonstrate how wonderful the NHS is. I went to my doctor's on Tuesday and she has been an absolute star. She has been ringing me in the evenings to see how I am. She referred me to the ENT dept. at the hospital and I have had a phone call from the hospital this morning. I go next Friday for an endoscopy. Whenever I have needed the NHS it has been there for me and the fact I am here and reasonably well after a colourful medical history is completely down to the wonderful care I have had. Please, no one worry about me, I am managing quite well. If I eat slowly and small amounts I can eat anything that has no lumps in it. Losing my voice is awful for a chatterbox like me, but it comes and goes. When my cleaner came last week, I sounded exactly like Satchmo. I am convinced it's not another tumour, my doctor is thinking it may be dysphagia. I haven't told my children about this yet, but I think I will over the weekend. I won't worry until I find out what is going on. My theory is that all the ferocious coughing I did when I had that virus has maybe damaged my throat. We'll soon know anyway. In the meantime, rest assured I am in really good hands.

Wishing you all the best. Dysphagia is very common and isn't always diagnosed until someone has had a very bad cold/chest infection or pneumonia. It can cause a very phlegmy cough. It gets more common as we get older.

Morning all: Happy Easter Sunday. Clocks moved on one hour so we should have lighter evenings from now on.

It is bright and cold again here. We have had plenty of rain lately, but we are high up, so no floods here. I am faring quite well in the circumstances and hope it is only Dysphagia. My friend Pat is coming to the hospital with me and she is my rock at the moment. She is such a comfort. I have been given even more chocolate for Easter, but it's a bit tricky to eat it just now. I'm sure it will keep. I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Easter.

Morning all: March didn't go out like a lamb did it. Into the fourth month now and no sign of a heatwave yet.
