Today is..........
Purple Day is a global grassroots event focused on raising awareness of epilepsy. The first event was held in 2008 and now occurs annually on March 26, and supporters are encouraged to wear a purple-coloured item of clothing. Purple and lavender are often associated with epilepsy, as for example in the wearing of a lavender ribbon.

For Althea....
When I am an old woman I shall wear purple With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me. And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter. I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells And run my stick along the public railings And make up for the sobriety of my youth. I shall go out in my slippers in the rain And pick flowers in other people's gardens And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat And eat three pounds of sausages at a go Or only bread and pickle for a week And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry And pay our rent and not swear in the street And set a good example for the children. We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now? So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple. Jenny Joseph

Nestle is launching a lower-sugar Milkybar made with a new version of the sweetener which could help ease the $185 billion (£130 billion) confectionery industry's growing public health headache. Milkybar Wowsomes, a new more expensive take on the 81-year-old white chocolate made famous by the gun-slinging Milkybar Kid ads, will be on shelves in Britain and Ireland in coming weeks.
Will you buy it?

Take a deep dive into the depths of your wardrobe and dig out the best hat you can find to celebrate Wear a Hat Day 2018. The annual holiday is observed throughout the United Kingdom in an effort to raise funds for research and awareness about brain tumors. Wear a Hat Day is organized by the organization, Brain Tumour Research.

I've been to the chiropodist this morning. £35 well spent too. He was very good, had to dig deep to trim an ingrowing toe nail. Seems fine now.

Good afternoon one and all and a Happy Easter!
A lovely sunny morning has just turned very cloudy, too good to last. I was hoping to get out in the garden this afternoon - it could be a knitting session instead!
