Good morning. I have had no sleep and have a busy day ahead of me! I am off to the coast with camera and binoculars.
The sunrise was beautiful this morning. The air was cool and fresh. Many Jackdaws were flying overhead earlier. I love their voices.
Have a happy day .

Any reason for not sleeping Polly? Nice here, few clouds but nice and sunny and warm I don't know if they still do it but the great unwashed used to congregate at Stonehenge for the summer solstice, and copulate inside the stones. If a child was conceived it was assumed to have magic powers and if the father or mother were the result of such a conception then the child would have super magic powers

Morning all: Very humid over night so looks like a lovely day ahead. Must find more washing to do while it's good for drying.

Good afternoon. Yesterday at the coast was great. The sky in the distance was so dark, the IOW was bathed in sunshine, and no rain arrived whilst I was there. I was able to sit out of the wind in my usual spot, facing a lagoon, with my lunch. The wind was very strong and I came back with tangled hair - and a tanned face! I saw two Green Hairstreaks, one Grizzled Skipper, one Marbled White. Also saw six Shelduck chicks with their parents, and two Lapwing chicks with one parent. There were constant squabbles - mostly amongst Little Terns and gulls, and Common Terns and gulls. Gulls are prolific predators. As a result of my very long day, I was asleep so early last night, awake at 2am for a cup of tea and a couple of apricots, and then back to sleep! I ache so much today (health probs keep me awake, Jimmy). Today is much the same as yesterday - lots of dark clouds, billowy white clouds, and sunshine. White Admirals have been seen flying according to UK Butterflies. I know exactly where to go nearby where I am certain of seeing them once they are on the wing so I might take a walk there later to investigate. Wishing you all a happy day.

Funny you should mention butterflies Polly, there are plenty in our garden this year. I suspect it is because I have not been able to keep it firmly under control this year, and OH is bust enough looking after me. Consequently all sorts of wild flowers and weeds have seized their moment Next year will look into a wildflower garden, there is nothing like the sight of butterflies to make us think of summer

Morning everyone, lovely sunny day and so warm. Which means bloody high pollen "> Been to shops. now we are past the longest day we have started Christmas shopping Isn't it odd how friendships develop through illness, when I was very ill a neighbour who we were on nodding terms with became a regular and concerned visitor. Now that same neighbour is himself in hospital in the very same bed that I occupied, I was reluctant to visit because of the bad memories but have decided to go tomorrow and grasp the nettle and lay the ghost
