Good morning everyone, I don't think it's quite as bad as they forecast this morning but I'll find out when I nip for a newspaper.

Dentist today, to have a semi-permanent crown fitted. Still, I get a free bus ride there and back.

Good luck at the dentist Aubrey, I hope it doesn't hurt too much. Sunny and crisp here, it was showing 2c at 7am but when I came out of Sainsbury's it was showing 0c. Thankfully I don't have to go out again today, not the sort of weather to hang around outside.

The North wind doth blow and we have got snow. It's coming down thick and fast. It looks like we'll be snowed in until it clears. And,with perfect timing, my back is giving me dreadful pain. I think I'll recline with a book this afternoon.I'm not fit for anything else.

Feet up with a book sounds good to me!
We have wind and heavy rain - I'll be knitting this afternoon.

The tooth underneath is not that good; it might be ok but if not the crown will have to come off for more work to be done, work that I think would have to be done at a hospital (it is a long way back). "Semi permanent" wasn't the term she used; what she actually said (that I can't remember) suggested something a bit more permanent than semi but not fully.

I never understand why they do half a job and you have to wait to have it completed. When I was in hospital a youngish man came onto the ward who had suffered a heart attack. They took him off for an angiogram, a tiny camera on a wire inserted into a vein and guided up to the heart, which showed a blockage and that he needed a stent. They brought him back to the ward and told him he would go on a waiting list for the procedure Why didn't they insert the stent after the examination, it's a similar procedure

I had that done after my heart attack. One job is diagnosis then you go on the list depending how urgent it is. The waiting is worse because after the fright you go on a strict diet. I lost three stone while waiting for the stent. My cholesterol was near 13 and went down to 5 during that waiting time.

I can well imagine how it must have been whilst you were waiting for the stent, was it long wait?

No Jimmy, about 4 weeks and all done. Morning all: Not a bad morning for mid January. Off to town to do the rounds then in for the day.

Morning all, blustery showers here Spent a fortune at Tesco Extra and popped into Morrisons, the only place here that sells diced turkey thighs which makes yummy caseroles
