In readiness, we will be listening to them at their conference so I thought I would have a thread in readiness. Clearly, there is plenty of dis-May and storm clouds are gathering. She is not doing a good job although I doubt she will be deposed just yet, but already there is a yougov poll on the next leader... First, Boris. Second, Ruth Davidson. Third, Jacob Rees Mogg!!!
They would have to engineer RD into the HOC. I am not sure she would be willing.

Under normal circumstances, she'd have been dropped like a scorching spud but the desirable is not available and the available is certainly not desirable.

I am completely baffled by the seeming appeal of Boris. I mean, what does he stand for? If you look at Davidson, you would know. And as for JRM - we DEFINITELY know !! But Boris? The liar? the serial adulterer? the bungler? the change referendum ships? I think he stands for Boris and opportunism - yet loads of people love him. I wish somebody would explain. I just can't see it.

Apparently he is adored by the Tory local parties who the MPs listen to Whether or not he is liked by the electorate is another matter I don't see anyone at the top of the Tory tree who has any appeal at all, maybe when she goes ('Twill be sooner rather than later) perhaps an unknown will emerge as David Cameron did pre 2010

Ruth Davidson - now there's a thought! This is the woman who has managed one surgery in her constituency since she has been a MSP.
This is the woman who doesn't do any research and has been caught out on too many occasions to mention because of lack of research.
She would love to be PM - please take her, Scotland would be the better for it! I'm sure a safe seat could be found - it was for Boris!

From Prospect.
The Tory Party is in meltdown as the PM struggles with rogue cabinet ministersāand now thereās yet more bad news for May ahead of Party Conference. Michael Heseltine tells Prospectās Jay Elwes that no Tory figure has emerged who could āprevent the disaster of a Corbyn victory.ā He predicts another election in two yearsā time: the runners and riders had better get a move on.

While you are at it, what is it about Nicola Sturgeon that you don't like? I'm intrigued.
