I want to put fruit that never ripens into room 101. I mean fruit you buy ,that looks wonderful, but is not quite ripe. Then instead of ripening it just rots in the bowl. Hmph! Try put it in with a banana. It seems bananas give off a gas that encourages rapid maturing. (but not in people) before we get the usual smart arsed comment.

Ethylene gas, (as any smart arsed commentator knows.)

I have tried that, but some fruit just WON'T ripen. I don't know what has been done to it before I get it.

I would like to put false eyelashes into Room 101. Where did this trend start? Lily Savage certainly started something - and she was the last person they looked good on.

Men who b*llsh*t (that means probably all) They are driven to be expert pretending to have knowledge, or an opinion (the right one) on everything. My OH is one, but will only admit it to me. To all others he makes out he's an oracle. I think its another form of male competitiveness.

Last time I had a haircut my barber, a woman, was going that evening to have her eyelashes extended and dyed At a price too...and I believe they don't last, you have to keep going back. They just look wrong - especially on Mary Berry 😨 I'm all for making the most of one's assets (getting fewer 😒) but less is more sometimes. I wonder what Miss Barber looks like now?

I had false eyelashes when they first came out in the 60s. One night my ex took me to a fancy cocktail bar for a special occasion. I could feel something on my cheek and went to the Ladies. One of the eyelashes had come off and was working it's way down my cheek. I was mortified. I have never used them since, though I see the magnetic ones they have now don't use glue - so maybe...........

I am thinking of having semi permanent eyebrows put on because my eyebrows are nearly non existant. It would save a lot of time and energy. I am too squeamish to have them tattooed on.

We had a lady here once who I think shaved her eyebrows off and then painted them back on. She thought she looked fabulous but they formed neat thin arches, and were never quite symmetrical. She had the appearance of a dead clown!

I know what you mean - it all seems very convenient. However, the current fashion is for very definite eyebrows, which might be as bit too 'definite' for our age group! Can you trust that therapist?? Anyway,I know what it's like - an idea takes hold...
