Last night , I used my new Pressure King Pro pressure cooker (electric) I cooked a piece of cheap meat with root veg. and filled it with water. Cooked for 30 mins. We enjoyed meat & 2 last night and soup for lunch today. So far I give it top marks.

In fact it is totally silent and when it reaches the set time it maintains the heat, unless switched off.

I have been looking at these Pressure King Pros and wondering whether I would use it enough to justify buying one. I have so many gadgets, some used, some unused, that there is not much room left in the kitchen. I recently gave my nephew a hardly used George Foreman grill. I have given my bread makers to the charity shop. My worktops are crowded and my cupboards are full to bursting. So if I get something new, something old will have to go. I will follow your progress with interest.

I started with chicken, which took 30 mins and was tender and juicy. I then did a large chunk of cheap shin of beef , with lots of veg. We had beef and veg. last night, soup for lunch and more beef and veg for tonight. The beef took an hour to cook. Flavour is excellent.

It is sounding like it was a good buy,Arena. I have always been terrified of the old type of pressure cookers because of disasters my mother had. Two explosions with stuff all over the ceiling in the kitchen. I may venture to get a new type so long as it is safe. I don't know which appliance to get rid of to make space for it. My Phillips Air fryer which is getting old,or my slow cooker,or maybe by Bosch coffee machine(which doesn't get much use now.)

Do not think of the electric pc in the same way as the old stove top types. You can get rid of your slow cooker the King Pro does slow cooking too.

Thanks Arena. It will fit where I want it to. The slow cooker is going on it's travels. I will order my PKP right now. I'm going for the 5 litre one too.

The PKP arrived mid morning and I have made a beef and vegetable mix. It's beef bourguignon without the bacon really. I am still a little afraid of the PKP and I left the kitchen while it was on. Now,I'm less anxious,I may stay when I steam the cauli and potatoes later. There are many videos of how to make different meals in it on Youtube. I shall be studying them soon. I bought a smallish chicken yesterday, thinking the pot would not be big enough for a 2 kilo size chicken, but now I think it will be big enough. I can see that this gadget is going to be really useful.
