Oh norty - I'm so sorry to read that. Reap what you sow is indeed the way of the world. You didn' say if you have children/grandchildren - I hope I am not being nosey/insensitive just interested. Having a restful day today - and have to say I slept for 11 hours last night - yes 11 hours!

Hi Star,
I have two children a son who is 20, and an 18 year old daughter. I'm not a grandparent yet however I am a great aunt!!
My other nephews call me Auntie Soap as they couldn't say Sue. ;D

I'm so pleased norty - I didn't want to put my foot in it with you. We didn't think we would ever be grandparents - miscarriages, ectopic, failed IVF and then it happened naturally, we were gobsmacked but thrilled at the same time. With our son it was just that he kept changing girlfriends!!! He now has a beautiful baby daughter and seems to be settled (at 39 he really ought to be!)

I'm glad about your grandchildren also. My parents in law were delighted as everyone (parents on both sides and our siblings) had known for years that we would need fertility treatment. My mother was very sniffy about it and said that we should just accept things as they are and just get on with our lives. Plenty people feel that way I know, it hurts when it's your mother though. Any how she see's them and us about once a year, and struggles to communicate with them on any level. It's all very sad, but her own doing. I don't want to hijack this thread any longer with any more fertility/mother issues... As you were Grannies, Grandpa's, and great Aunts.

I'm off on another rant! We have had some friends to stay, they have two granchildren like us but why Oh why do they have to go on about them and how brilliant they are? They are three and one and are sweet wee things (lots of photos and videos to watch!!! Our two are seven, absolutely brilliant, and ten months, way beyond her expected achievements!!! I've had my rant now! Am I the odd one out here - I just like telling funny stories about mind!

Everybodies geese are swans! A woman we knew had a baby so repulsive, that it's dummy refused to go in it's mouth. She kept saying to us, 'Isn't he scrumptious'. I refrained from comment !
